Star Patterns, Reimagined

Colorful Moroccan tile pattern with blue and black accents, showcasing traditional craftsmanship.

When we designed the Syrian Geometric Stars band, we wanted it to feel rooted in tradition but also connected to the present. The engraved repeating pattern comes from classic Syrian and Middle Eastern geometry, where stars and shapes are arranged in a balanced rhythm. Usually, these designs use the eight-pointed star you’ll see in historic tiles and carvings.

For this band, we did something different. We reworked the geometry to fit the five-pointed star, echoing the stars found on the Syrian flag. This wasn’t easy. The five-pointed shape doesn’t usually sit neatly in traditional patterns, but with some adjustments we created a repeating pattern that feels natural and flows across the strap.

We also added a special detail: three stars placed together on one side of the band. This small feature makes the design stand out, and it nods to how symbols change and evolve over time. It’s meant to feel bold, a focal point on the wrist that contrasts with the repeating pattern around it.

The result is a band that carries both heritage and story. It’s rooted in centuries of Syrian design but adjusted to reflect a more contemporary identity. Subtle enough to wear every day, but with details that spark curiosity when you look closer.
